Gokyo Arabashiri, Junmai Nama Genshu
The term Arabashiri usually refers to the free-run Sake that naturally seeps out during the pressing phase while the bags containing Sake are being prepared to be pressed. Free-run Sakes are fresh and rough in taste, which have its own unique appeal to many Sake drinkers.
As the name suggests, this Gokyo Arabashiri Junmai has delicious rough edges, bright, crisp, and fresh, being also that it is Nama (unpasteurized) and Genshu (undiluted). It has vibrant aromas of wild strawberries and ripe banana, yet on palate there are whimsical shift of flavors such as black fig, ripe persimmon, honey, and a touch of herbal. Although this Sake is bursting with fruit on nose and palate, it is refreshingly dry. A perfect transitional drink for any wine lovers who wants to give Sake a try.
Drink chilled in a Cabernet wine glass to enjoy its full aromatics. Pair this Sake with veggie and seafoods dishes, spicy Indian food, or even pizza. This is a very versatile Sake that can hold its own again any food pairings.
