Chiyomusubi, Junmai Ginjo Goriki Nama
This Sake utilizes a special regional rice called Goriki (strong power), that had gone extinct due to farming challenges in growing this particular kind of rice. However the rice was revived by the local Sake brewers in 1980s, and Chiyomusubi Junmai Ginjo Goriki is one big, bold Sake!
The aroma and flavor of this Sake is certainly not shy. Its acidity feels high on palate, but there’s also elegance about it without being overwhelming. On the nose, bursting with ripe pineapples, bitter dark chocolate, and steamed rice. On palate, there’s refreshing tartness of Granny Smith Apples and that elusive taste of Umami hover on the periphery of the tongue. This is definitely the kind of Sake that can entertain your palate and take the Sake drinking experience to a whole another level.
